This is a scenic, easy-to-follow coastal hike that shows you the most striking viewpoints around Benagil without rushing or crowds. You’ll leave Faro in a comfortable, air-conditioned van and spend the day walking along the cliffs above Praia da Marinha, one of the Algarve’s most impressive stretches of coastline. From above, you’ll see the famous rock formations often called the “Titanic,” the “Heart,” and the “Bridge,” and understand why this landscape is so distinctive.
Next, you’ll walk to the top of the Benagil Cave, where you can look down into the cavern and see how the light fills the space from the opening above. The route then continues to Algar Seco, where you’ll explore Boneca Cave and the sea-carved rock formations along this quieter section of coast.
The final stop is Praia de Nossa Senhora da Rocha and Praia Nova, where a small 16th-century chapel sits on the cliff edge and a natural tunnel connects the two beaches. If conditions allow, there’s time to relax, swim, or snorkel before returning to Faro. It’s a nature-focused day that balances light hiking, great viewpoints, and time by the sea.
